2021 – Instagram, Facebook and Twitter

A very long time since I posted here. We all have been through hard times with covid-19, restrictions and lock downs. Living in Denmark, I was lucky that we didn’t have to be isolated at any time. But working from home, social distance etc, had an impact. Also on my motivation for photographing and blogging.

At this moment I don’t know where I will go with my photography. Will I only post images on my personal website? Will I leave Instagram, and their new algoritm that does not want still images? (I already deleted my Twitter account, since their new terms has killed all candid and street photography – come on Twitter, shame on you..) Will I blog more in the future? A lot of questions I don’t have the answer to right now.

But most important. Even if I feel that my photography is totally stuck in repetition at this moment, I still love to go out with my camera and observe life in the streets. So I guess I will photograph for myself, and not for Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Social media is just killing still photography, with its endless stream of images and swiping. Pointless to me anyway.

What do you think? Do you still use social media for photography. Do you like to read blog posts? How do you prefer to look at images online?

Here are some of my own favorite shots from 2021.
